Photobox Group Packaging Rebrand

Photobox • Hofmann • PosterXXL

The Brief
To create a unified packaging system for Photobox Group, consolidating hundreds of packaging SKUs across Photobox, Hofmann and PosterXXL into a more efficient, cost-effective and scalable group-wide solution. The challenge was to reduce complexity without flattening the identity of three distinct brands across three markets. The system needed to support production savings, simplify fulfilment and still feel emotionally relevant to customers buying personalised gifts.
Insight

Objective:

A gifting company’s packaging should feel like part of the gift. By treating the delivery experience as a moment of anticipation rather than just protection, the system could work harder twice: first as a gift from the brand to the purchaser, then as gift-wrap-style presentation for the eventual recipient.

I originated the central creative concept and led the visual system for the Photobox Group packaging rebrand, creating a master approach that could flex across Photobox, Hofmann and PosterXXL while supporting SKU consolidation, cost reduction and production simplification. My role spanned concept development, hierarchy, gift-tag shipping label system, brand colour adaptation, illustrator briefing and art direction, pattern assembly, artwork, supplier handoff, production optimisation and presentations to brand leadership, group executives and factory teams, with Gareth Ladley leading the physical structure and Karen Martin collaborating on brand adaptation.
