Secret Cinema

OBJECTIVE:

To authentically re-create the world of Rydell High School for customers to be immersed in for Secret Cinema Presents Grease: The Live Experience.

Secret Cinema is renowned for its immersive experiences, and our latest project focused on faithfully recreating Rydell High School from Grease. We aimed to capture every detail, and graphics were essential in ensuring that the environment represented the film. Collaborating closely with Paramount Studios was instrumental in achieving an authentic portrayal of their intellectual property.


The immersive journey for our guests began immediately upon ticket purchase. We developed a pre-show website where attendees could participate in a personality quiz to select their "school club." This led them to the Rydell High intranet, a hub filled with valuable information—costume suggestions, sing-along lyrics, event directions, the merch shop, and a list of activities to enhance their experience.


Upon arrival, guests were welcomed by a striking entryway that transported them directly into Rydell High School, featuring a graphic mural inspired by the film's iconic opening sequence. We expanded Rydell High's branding to ensure that environmental and operational signage reflected the film's essence to the smallest detail. Additional graphics enhanced the experience, recreating memorable set pieces and collaborating with food and beverage partners to evoke the era's aesthetic. We also designed unique merchandise for guests to commemorate their return to Rydell High, ensuring the memories would last for years to come.
